Bikenomics is a crasis which brings together the words “bicycle” and “economics”. According to a recent study, cycling within the EU-27 might bring more than 200 billion euro every year: more than Denmark’s GDP. The costs/benefits ratio is impressive: 1 to 70. Italy, as main European bicycle’s producer, could be the country which might profit more than everybody from a spread of cycling. How would mobility’s policies change if our politicians knew the ROI of cycling infrastructures?
